Joyce Ozier knows that colour is highly emotional and touches our deepest core.

Her passion for colour has been smoldering since she was an undergraduate at Skidmore College (USA). There she studied Colour Theory with Alice Moshier, a disciple of the iconic Bauhaus Colour-Theorist, Josef Albers.

A Masters in Theatrical Design from the University of British Columbia has taken her from theatre set design to award-winning retail display, but it is always evocative colour and raw energy that drive her work. She is known for the boldness and immediacy of her painting style.

Since her 2009 retirement from WOW! WINDOWS display & design ltd, a company that she founded and built with James Williams, Joyce has been painting full time and, in 2014, was awarded a Painting Residency at THE BANFF CENTRE FOR THE ARTS.

Her paintings have been the focus of three well-received solo shows, as well as included in numerous group exhibits.

Collectors and Interior Designers from Canada, the US, the UK, and Switzerland have used her work to transform their homes and offices into joyful, colourful, and inviting spaces.

Joyce Ozier’s work is part of the VGH & UBC HOSPITAL FOUNDATION Art Collection.

She is represented by Vancouver’s FAZAKAS GALLERY.   Fine art prints are available through HFA Custom Art Services (formerly Hambleton Fine Art Services).
